چکیده

Abstract This article analyzes the audio diaries of a Tibetan physician, originally from Amdo (Qinghai Province, China), now living in New York City. Dr. Kunchog Tseten describes his experiences during first wave COVID -19 pandemic, spring and summer 2020, when Queens, York—the location where he lives works—was “epicenter epicenter” novel coronavirus outbreak United States. The collaborative research project which this diary is part combines innovative methodological approaches to qualitative, ethnographic study era social distancing with an attunement relationship between language, culture, health care. Kunchog’s our analysis its contents illustrate ways that medicine cultural practices, including those emergent Buddhism, have helped members Himalayan communities City navigate unprecedented moment care compassion.
